*Meet at Handlebar Cyclery at 7:00 am. Riders roll out by 7:30 am (please be on time).
*A one-time ride waiver must be filled out and provided to the shop prior to the start.
*Routes will be posted on the club Facebook page and/or subject to change weekly.
*Routes range from 25, 35 and 45 miles, but additional mileage can always be added depending on the day
and the group.
*We have one rest stop at the Shell petrol station in Fulshear (approx. 18-20 miles into the ride).
*We typically arrive back at the store before 10:30 am.
*We ride every Saturday weather permitting, or if there is already a scheduled organized ride. We will notify
ahead of time of any change or cancellation.
*This is an open ride for beginner, intermediate and experienced level riders, usually an A, B, B+ and C group.
Our A level riders push a consistent pace over 20+mph for 45 miles or more.
Our B+ level riders keep an average pace of around 19-20 mph for 42 miles.
Our B level riders keep an average pace of around 17-19 mph for 42 miles.
*We may separate into small groups if a few riders want to go different paces or slightly different route. If you exceed the advertised pace and break from the group, you will be on your own.
*A and B groups are tempo rides, if you are not able to keep the pace or have mechanical issues the group will continue riding. A rider will usually accompany you if you experience a flat or mechanical. Please know your own riding ability and ride with the applicable group.
Our C group or beginner is a no-drop ride of 20 miles and will average a determined pace based on the ability and experience of the riders. A briefing is given prior to the start of each group.
*IF YOU HAVE NEVER RIDDEN IN A GROUP RIDE, OR A NOVICE WE REQUIRE YOU TO RIDE WITH OUR NO-DROP BEGINNER C GROUP .
We will make sure you get back to the starting point safely and will regulate the pace of the group depending on ride conditions that day. The ride is lead by experience cyclists with good local knowledge. (Please note you should be fit enough to ride 15 – 20 miles).
